Who we are and what this covers
ColdHello is a mobile application operated by Luis Molina, an individual sole proprietor ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy covers the ColdHello mobile application and this website and describes how we handle information when you use either service. It does not cover the independent privacy practices of Apple, Google, RevenueCat, GitHub, or other third parties.
Information we handle
Information that stays on your device
The app stores the following information locally on your device and does not send it to us or to RevenueCat:
- Names and phone numbers entered through the app.
- Gender identity, preferences, language, and other app settings.
- Approach history and success-rate statistics.
- The result and time of the adult-age check; the birth date entered for the check is not retained.
Contacts and approach history use the operating system's protected storage. You can delete them in Settings; deletion does not reset the local five-use counter. Clearing app storage or uninstalling generally removes local data, subject to operating-system behavior.
Subscription information
If you view, start, restore, or manage a subscription, RevenueCat and the applicable app store process an anonymous app user identifier, purchase and subscription status, transaction or receipt information, and limited technical information needed to validate purchases and provide access to Pro features. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
Support communications
If you email us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, and any troubleshooting details or anonymous app user identifier you include.
Website information
This static website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. It is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may automatically process standard request information such as your IP address, browser or device type, requested page, and date and time for security and service operation. The site also requests fonts from Google Fonts, which causes your browser to connect to Google and disclose standard request information, including your IP address.
How we use information
We use the limited information described above to provide and restore subscriptions, unlock purchased features, respond to support requests, maintain security, prevent fraud, comply with law, and protect our rights and users. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral tracking.
Retention
Locally stored app information remains until you delete it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app, subject to device backups. We retain support messages only as long as reasonably needed to respond, keep appropriate business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. RevenueCat, the app stores, GitHub, and Google apply their own retention practices to information they process.
Your choices and privacy requests
You can review or delete locally stored information in the app or through your device. Subscription records must be managed through Apple or Google. You may contact us to ask about, access, correct, or delete personal information we control, or to appeal our response. We may need to verify your request and may retain information where legally required.
ColdHello does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects. Therefore, there is no sale, targeted-advertising, or profiling opt-out to offer. Authorized agents may submit a request where applicable; we may ask for proof of authority.
New York does not currently provide a general consumer privacy request framework comparable to some other state laws. New York's SHIELD Act does require covered businesses to use reasonable safeguards for qualifying private information and provide notice of certain security breaches. We will honor any privacy rights that apply to you based on your location and our activities.
Security and transfers
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. Keeping contacts and approach history on your device reduces exposure, but no device, transmission, or storage system is completely secure. Service providers may process information in the United States or other countries where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
Children's privacy
ColdHello is intended only for people age 18 or older. The app checks a birth date before use but retains only the result and time of the check, not the birth date. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor provided information through support or another channel, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or law changes. We will post the revised policy here, update the date above, and provide additional notice when required by law. Material changes apply prospectively from their effective date.
